Renovation Surprises

Many of our residential window film clients are in the midst of (or just completing) a new home build or a home renovation. We find that for every client that had plans  to use window films to control the light or privacy in their home, there are multiple others who realize after their renovation is complete that there are some surprises that require a quick solution.

One of our successful projects was a home in Colwood that needed a few finishing touches to perfect the desired aesthetic. As a new home that utilized large exterior windows, full glass interior doors, and transparent bathroom area dividers, the home owners had some very specific needs. The full glass exterior windows needed a reflective coating to increase privacy and reduce heat, the office areas needed graphic privacy films to reduce distractions, and the bedroom and bathroom areas called for a graphic display that mirrored the surrounding environment while increasing individual privacy.

It is very common for new homes or extensive renos to bring about a few surprises. It can be hard to predict, for instance, the amount of heat that will accumulate in your living areas at different parts of the day. It can also be hard to visualize sight lines between the rooms with a certain sequence of doors open.
