Sometimes new developments create unexpected surprises. Across from this beautiful Langford home, a new house was being built that created a sightline right through this stairwell window and into the bedroom. The solution was a creative one. To increase privacy while still allowing light in, we installed this wonderful, semi-transparent landscape photograph of Moraine Lake.
They chose to use white inks printed on SS-Clear Velvet. This creates a very interesting effect because from the outside it looks greyscale, but from the inside, the contrast seems to be inversed like a negative piece of film.
This window mural is inspiring creativity from the neighbourhood as well. What trend are you going to start on your street?
